About me:
I am a Biology PhD student co-mentored by Dr. Sameer Bajikar and Dr. Christopher Deppmann. I earned my B.S. in Neurobiology from Saint Mary’s College (Notre Dame, IN). My research focuses on identifying signaling changes that occur before, during, and after neuronal regression in Rett syndrome. To do this, I use imaging mass cytometry (IMC), a novel single-cell imaging approach capable of assessing over 40 molecular markers simultaneously. In parallel, I am investigating the gene-dosage effects of MECP2 on key signaling pathways, providing insights into both Rett syndrome and MECP2 Duplication Syndrome across male and female context.
Outside of the lab, I really enjoy baking, cooking, crafting, playing with my puppy, hiking, and spending time with my friends and family
