About me:

I am a cell biology researcher involved in discovering novel terminally differentiated genes in the mammalian sperm-egg interaction, identifying gamete-specific cancer targets for immunotherapy, and differentiating enteric neural progenitor stem cells into functional neurons with myenteric subtypes. I received my B.S. and M.S. in Zoology from the University of Calcutta and my Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Calcutta. I conducted my postdoctoral research at the University of Virginia under the mentorship of Prof. John Herr (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=Mandal%20Herr) and Prof. Sean Moore (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33628947/; https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38670535/). I am joining the Bajikar lab in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Virginia starting in July 2024. Outside my research work, I love spending time on beaches and mountains and watching natural documentaries with my family.
