About me:
I am a passionate, interdisciplinary scientist devoted to studying brain development and the underlying biological processes that go awry in neurodevelopmental disorders, like autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disability. I hope to use these insights to engineer and develop novel therapies for these disorders. I obtained my B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia. I then obtained my Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering also from the University of Virginia under the mentorship of Dr. Kevin Janes. Following suit, I conducted my postdoctoral research at Baylor College of Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Huda Zoghbi. I am starting my lab in the Departments of Cell Biology and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia starting January 2024!
My interests outside of the lab include UVa athletics (Go Hoos!), exploring the Blue Ridge mountains, trying out new breweries and vineyards throughout Virginia, and spending quality time with my wife and two kids.
